Overview

â„šī¸
UBC 525 is a moderately populated, very dense object of high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a moderate distance, near the mid-plane, affected by moderate extinction. It is catalogued as a near-solar metallicity, very young cluster, but with a large variance across recent sources for the distance, absorption, and age parameters (see Parameters). It is poorly studied in the literature.

Liu et al. (2025)
Classified as primordial binary cluster 237 along with HSC_2562, and as tidal capture (resonant trapping binary) 363 along with Theia_2478, and of multiple system 68 along with Theia_2478 and HSC_2562.

Palma et al. (2025)
Part of multiple system G158, along with HSC_2549, HSC_2562 and Theia_2478.

Cavallo et al. (2024)
Gold sample.
