Overview

â„šī¸
Theia 2505 is a sparse, very loose object of high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a relatively close distance, above the mid-plane, affected by moderate extinction. It is catalogued as a metal-poor, young cluster, but with a large variance across recent sources for the absorption parameter (see Parameters). It was recently reported in the literature.

âš ī¸ Warning: the low UTI value and no obvious signs of duplication (Cdup=1.0) indicate that this is quite probably an asterism, moving group, or artifact, and not a real open cluster.

Liu et al. (2025)
Classified as primordial binary cluster 364 along with Theia_2803, and as tidal capture (resonant trapping binary) 371 along with Trumpler_26, and of multiple system 82 along with Theia_2803 and Trumpler_26.

Palma et al. (2025)
Part of multiple system G240, along with Theia_2803 and Trumpler_26.

Cavallo et al. (2024)
Silver sample.
