Overview

â„šī¸
Sher 1 is a moderately populated, loose object of very high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a large* distance, near the mid-plane, affected by high extinction. It is catalogued as a near-solar metallicity, very young cluster, but with a large variance across recent sources for the age and mass parameters (see Parameters). It is well-studied in the literature.

(*): The parallax distance estimate (~9.22 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~5.88 kpc).
