Overview

â„šī¸
Ruprecht 56 is a sparse, very loose object of low C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a large* distance, below the mid-plane, affected by low extinction. It is catalogued as a low-mass, near-solar metallicity, intermediate-age cluster (see Parameters). It is well-studied in the literature.

(*): The parallax distance estimate (~5.98 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~0.43 kpc).

Very close Low extinction Low mass Near-solar metallicity Intermediate age
