Overview

ℹ️
Ruprecht 123 is a sparse, very loose object of very low C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a relatively close distance, near the mid-plane, affected by moderate extinction. It is catalogued as a near-solar metallicity, intermediate-age cluster, but with a large variance across recent sources for the age parameter (see Parameters). It is moderately studied in the literature.

Almeida et al. (2025)
Mass determination: worst fit. Isochrone match: good fit.

Cavallo et al. (2024)
Gold sample.

Hunt & Reffert (2024)
Classified as open cluster. CMD classes: 0.97 (50th percentile), true positive (human-assigned).

Hunt & Reffert (2023)
Classified as open cluster. CMD classes: 0.97 (50th percentile), true positive (human-assigned).

Morales et al. (2013)
Classified as morphological type 'OC2' (totally exposed cluster without correlation with ATLASGAL emission). Morphological flag: exposed cluster, without submm emission.
