Overview

â„šī¸
NGC 7826 is a poorly populated, very dense object of low C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a close* distance, well below the mid-plane, affected by low extinction. It is catalogued as an old cluster (see Parameters). It is rarely studied in the literature, with no articles listed in the last 9 years.

(*): The parallax distance estimate (~0.74 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~1.26 kpc).

Relatively close Low extinction Old

Cantat-Gaudin et al. (2020)
Classified as non-existent; Gaia DR2 and radial velocities confirm it is not a physical cluster. More details in Appendix A of the article.
