Overview
NGC 6705 is a very rich, very dense object of very high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a moderate distance, below the mid-plane, affected by moderate extinction. It is catalogued as a very massive, near-solar metallicity, intermediate-age cluster, but with a large variance across recent sources for the age, metallicity, and mass parameters (see Parameters). It is very well-studied in the literature.

Ahumada & Lapasset (2007)
The colour-magnitude diagram in (1980AJ.....85..432S) was examined. It displays stars with p>=90% according to the proper motion study (1977A&AS...27..117M). Star 1095 is given in (1977A&AS...27..117M) a membership probability of 61%. Adopted cluster centre: star 1066 (ref. 277). The apparent diameter is from (1980AJ.....85..432S). References (1985ApJ...294L.103A) and (1982A&A...109...37M) cite star 1095 as a blue straggler; in (1985ApJ...294L.103A) this star is given a spectrum B3p.
