Overview
NGC 2071 is a poorly populated, very dense object of very high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a very close* distance, below the mid-plane, affected by very high extinction. It is catalogued as a very young cluster (see Parameters). It is rarely studied in the literature, with no articles listed in the last 10 years.
(*): The parallax distance estimate (~0.44 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~0.68 kpc).
Note: This object shares a large percentage of members with at least one entry reported in the same catalogue. See table with shared members information.
