Overview

â„šī¸
MCM 41 is a poorly populated, very dense object of high C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a moderate* distance, near the mid-plane. It is catalogued as a cluster (see Parameters). It is rarely studied in the literature, with no articles listed in the last 13 years.

(*): The parallax distance estimate (~3.26 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~5.40 kpc).

Note: This object shares a large percentage of members with 2 later reported entries. See table with shared members information.

Morales et al. (2013)
Classified as morphological type 'OC1' (totally exposed cluster still physically associated with gas). Morphological flag: exposed cluster, without submm emission, presence of an IR bubble.

Mercer et al. (2005)
Association of stars. Associated with mid-IR extended emission. Appears in 2MASS images.
