Overview

â„šī¸
MCM 13 is a sparse, very loose object of low C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a large* distance, near the mid-plane. It is catalogued as a young cluster (see Parameters). It is rarely studied in the literature, with no articles listed in the last 13 years.

(*): The parallax distance estimate (~6.13 kpc) differs significantly from the median photometric distance (~3.00 kpc).

Note: This object shares a large percentage of members with a later reported entry. See table with shared members information.

âš ī¸ Warning: the low UTI value and no obvious signs of duplication (Cdup=1.0) indicate that this is quite probably an asterism, moving group, or artifact, and not a real open cluster.

Morales et al. (2013)
Classified as morphological type 'OC2' (totally exposed cluster without correlation with ATLASGAL emission). Morphological flag: exposed cluster, without submm emission.

Mercer et al. (2005)
Cluster of stars. Detected using no magnitude cut. Detected in 2MASS catalog with our algorithm.
