ESO 064 05 is a poorly populated, very dense object of intermediate C3 quality. Its parallax locates it at a relatively close distance, below the mid-plane, affected by low extinction. It is catalogued as a metal-poor, young cluster (see Parameters). It is poorly studied in the literature.

Liu et al. (2025)
Classified as primordial binary cluster 11 along with ASCC_71.

Palma et al. (2025)
Classified as tidal capture (resonant trapping pair) P186, along with ASCC_71.

Cavallo et al. (2024)
Gold sample.
